Meet Ann Lamkey, Director of Children
Hi! I am a graduate of U of I, where I earned a degree in Education. I also hold a Master's Degree in Educational Administration from Eastern Illinois University. I have worked in public education both as a teacher and as an administrator. I retired from the Tuscola School District #301 in 2011 as their Elementary Principal at North Ward Elementary School. I enjoy gardening, camping, and hiking. My husband Fred and I live in Bloomington with a spoiled miniature Australian Shepherd, named Buddy.
During the program year, at the 11am service, children in grades K-5th will be invited to come to the Lower Fellowship Hall right after Time with Children. They will move downstairs with Ms. Ann Lamkey, (Director of Children). During this time, they will sing, do memory verse work, have a lesson, and play games.
We will be using the ORANGE curriculum to create a developmentally appropriate worship experience for kids. Parents are always welcome to come with their children to check it out!
For children in grades K through high school, September through May, Sunday School is held in the lower level of the church from 9:45-10:45am. Large groups focus on object lessons, videos, and activities that promote the Life App of the month from the ORANGE curriculum.
Small group activities reinforce making friends, Bible stories, and snacks.
Preschool children work in small groups in the nursery. They learn that God loves them, God made them, and Jesus is my forever friend.
Elementary Youth Group (K-5th Grade)
Children in grades K-5 will meet monthly from September through May for their own youth group. They voted to name themselves "Kids of the Kingdom".

Ask about our ORANGE curriculum
What is ORANGE?
ORANGE is simple, it's a strategy. It starts with two individual influences in a child's life:
Alone, these two work hard to ensure that every child has a better future. But when they’re COMBINED, the HOME and CHURCH will have a greater impact.
And THAT is ORANGE...
Overnight church Camp is offered for all student who have completed 3rd grade through high school. Day Camp is offered for K-2 graders. Camp is a unique experience that presents Bible study, boating, swimming, and camp fire devotionals.
We hold our camp at East Bay in Hudson, IL.
Almost Lock-Ins are a fun way to foster fellowship, adventure, and Bible study. Almost Lock-Ins take place on Friday evenings, 6-9pm. The children are asked to bring $5 for pizza and friends are always welcome. There is typically one night for 3-5th graders and another evening for K-2nd graders. Check out our church calendar for dates and details!
