  Do I need to wear my "Sunday best" to church?
You will see worshipers in everything from a suit to jeans or shorts. All of God's children are welcome in God's house, no matter what you are wearing.

  What is a presbytery?
A presbytery is a regional "governing bodies" made up of several churches. We are a member of the Presbytery of Great Rivers.

A synod is a regional "governing bodies" made up of several presbyteries. We are a member of the Synod of Lincoln Trails .
 
             
 
  What is Reformed faith?
Reformed refers the denominations that emerged following the Reformation. We believe in the priesthood of all believers in which every member is considered to be a minister. We also believe that the Word of God in the Scriptures is to be available to all people and that the sacraments of baptism and the Lord's Supper are to be joined together in worship with the Scriptures.

 
             
 
  What does the word Presbyterian mean?
Presbyterian comes from the Greek word presbyteros, which means "elder."
 
             
 
  Who was John Calvin?
John Calvin was one of the leading reformers whose work led to the establishment of the Protestant church.
 
             
 
  What is the narthex?
The narthex is the hallway outside of the sanctuary.
 
             
 
  What is an elder?
An elder is a woman or man elected by the congregation and called by God to help lead the members of a local PC(USA) congregation. Together the elders are called the session.
 
             
 
  What is a chancel?
The chancel is that part of the sanctuary containing the Communion table, pulpit and choir loft.
 
             
 
  What is a sacrament?
A sacrament is an outward and visible sign of God's invisible love. We have two sacraments in the PC(USA), the Lord's Supper or Communion and holy baptism.
 
             
 
  Why don't we have trustees or deacons?
We have a unicameral board. Committee of session fulfill the duties normally done by trustees and deacons.
