Christmas Under Wraps Advent Study (GH)
Every Sunday until December 18, 2016
9:45am – 10:45amCategory: Christian Education
Location: Great Hall
When it comes to the season of Advent and Christmas, we generally think of Christ as an
innocent little baby. A child swaddled in a manger as frail and precious as any other newborn. Even though we know who that infant will grow up to become and what He will do, we can become lost in the simple innocence of the baby Jesus and forget what the birth of that child revealed to the world. During our Sunday School hour, First Pres will be studying a series called “Under Wraps.” This series urges us to not simply see the baby in the manger but rather to see the child Christ as a gift given to humanity – a gift that reveals the nature and quality of God. This series “explores four characteristics of God described in the Old Testament and then revealed perfectly and completely through Jesus.” When we enter Advent and look into that manger we learn that God is expectant, dangerous, jealous, and faithful. We hope you’ll join us in the Great Hall for this study and that you’ll see just how surprising our God is this Christmas season. Sign-ups are available outside the library.
