As leaders we are SLEDS, that is, we can model being:

Servants — be grateful for what we have and desire to share with and serve others from the heart. Scripture reference: 1 Peter 4:8-11

Learners — be striving for our own personal, spiritual growth; to be more like Jesus. Scripture references: Ephesians 4:22-24; Romans 12:2

Encouragers — build others up through our words and deeds; make sure our group members know they matter to God. Scripture references: Ephesians 4:29; 5:1-2

Directors — be able to guide a discussion, know when to continue, when to move on. Scripture reference: Proverbs 1:1-5

Shepherds — show discernment and care for group members; trust the Spirit to lead you and your small group. Scripture references: Acts 20:28; 1 Peter 5:2-4
