Call to order by Moderator Rev. Jim Bell.

A motion was made to excuse elders. Motion carried.

Treasurer's Report: Acceptance of Treasurer's Report was approved. Net Operating Total ($39,353.86)

Pastor's Report:

  • Rev. Bell enjoyed his week with grandchildren Grady(2) and Cloey (3 months)!
  • Jim explained his tentative plan of administration with Larry , the incoming co-pastor.
  • We will finalize the BUDGET at the January meeting — may need to revise -$75,000.
  • He reminded everyone to help monitor that all doors are locked when leaving the church.
  • The Normal police have also been alerted of cars crossing our property to avoid stop-signs.
  • Our Habitat Committee is seeking a new family. Dedication of the house will be in 2006.
  • Peacekeepers are monitoring a local hotel cleaning service who is not paying Spanish workers.
  • Rev. Bell thanked the Personnel Committee for the Staff Christmas Party.

Clerk's Report:

  • Minutes of November 30 Session Meeting
  • Minutes of Committees: Congregational Life, Dec. 6: Children's Ministries, Nov.2: Youth Sub-Committee, Dec. 12.
  • Communion Served: 0
  • Correspondence: Called Presbytery Meeting Chatham. Dec. 6. (Borrowing to Build)
  • Current Active Membership — 513. Requests for Transfer:
    • Robert Crumpler, Jr. to Midland, Tx. First Presbyterian Church. Motion was made and seconded to reinstate Robert to membership and then transfer his membership. Carried.
    • Keith and Natalie Marsh — Second Presbyterian Church Bloomington, IL (less 2) Motion was made and seconded to approve their request. Carried.
    • Membership now 211.
  • Deaths — 0
  • Baptisms — 7 on December 4:
    • Kaeleigh Rose Hinthorn, child of Andre and Suzanne Peters Hinthorn
    • Simon Noah Hoffman, child of Robert and Nicole Hoffman
    • Blake Maloney Meyer, child of Tod and Laura Cluskey Meyer

A motion was made and passed to accept the Clerk's Report. Motion carried.

Old Business:

  • Reminder — Committee reports due to the office by Jan. 4, 2006
  • Stewardship - Judy L. had no new update since November 30th.
  • Membership - Motion was made and seconded to delete inactive members as listed in the Nov. 30 minutes. Carried.
  • PNC plans for Welcoming Rev. Larry Gaylord and family. Kathy Tosh sent a sign-up sheet to provide meals for the family their first week in town.

New Business:

  • Mission — Bob Hunt presented a survey which he requested we bring to the January 25th meeting. He also distributed the January Mission Study Plans — Jan. 8-Jan. 29.
  • Property — Jim Bouas moved (via properties committee) for approval of Session to spend $3575 for more exterior lighting. Carried.

Joys and concerns were shared. A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting at 7:30 p.m. Meeting adjourned with prayer led by Rev. Bell.

Next meeting: January 25, 7:00 p.m., John T. will have devotions. Motion carried.
