Call to order and opening prayer by Moderator Rev. Jim Bell.
Devotions and prayer by Cathy Rinehart. She reflected on our
April 24 church ribbon cutting and dinner for the new Great Hall — "Feasting
with God" — a Messianic Banquet. She used Acts 2:17
on new visions. She then opened the meeting with prayer.
Roll Call. Dave Seyller moved and John Crew seconded that we
excuse Kathy Tosh and Faith Ten Haken. Carried. Rev. Bell asked
that we keep Faith in our prayers.
Treasurer's Report: Balance $16,272.85 as of March 31,
2005. Mons Schrantz moved and E'Lane Tufts seconded that
the report be accepted. Carried.

Announcements:
- May 20 — Workshop for Clergy and Church
Leaders at Second Pres. from 8:30 a.m. until Noon.
- May
24 — Presbytery meeting at our church from 9:00 a.m.
-3:00 p.m.. Try to attend. Expecting 240-250 total, 170
for lunch. Will need help. Agenda includes final exam of Stacia
Thetard.
- May 27 — Dr. Tony Campolo will speak at Second Pres.
at 6:00 p.m. as a benefit for downtown block party, "Sharing
the Heart of Christ in the Heart of the Community." Cost: $25.
- May 29 — Installation of Stacia Thetard as associate
pastor at Northminster Presbyterian Church at 4:00 p.m.
- Congratulation
letters were received regarding Great Hall celebration
April 24 from Mt. Moriah and Calvary United Methodist.
- One Great Hour of Sharing total to date:

- Mons moved, seconded by Jim Bouas that June 19, 9:35
a.m. be set for a Congregational Meeting for the purpose

Rev. Bell thanked all who
helped with the Great Hall festivities the past two weeks.
He
also reported on a Spanish worship service he attended
April 24 in McLean County. This new congregation of
about 40 members currently meets at Second Presbyterian Church.
They also are supplied some office space there. Jim Bell proposed
that we pray about supporting this new mission and for their
new leader. Everyone agreed to asking their pastor to come to
speak to First Pres. Jim will look into this.

Old Business:
Pastor Nominating Committee — John Tuttle reported the
Church Information Form is complete and posted on the pcusa.org
Web site. Resumes are expected to start arriving by mid-May.
Personnel — Dave Seyller reported a "six month" meeting
was held with Kelley Marion in regards to her interim job as
Christian ed/youth director. Motion was made by Dave Seyller,
seconded by Cathy Rinehart that as of July 1 Kelley's
position would be permanent and full time. Motion carried.
New Business:
- Request to change June 22 session meeting to June 29 due
to Bible school. Motion was made by Mons, seconded
by Bob Hunt to do this. Carried.
- Invitation for all to attend
May 24 presbytery meeting at First Pres Normal. If session
members wish to eat lunch ($6), they should reserve with Carol
Kehl.
- Lloyd Wiesemann reported for the Nominating Committee.
They nearly have a full slate for 2008 session members and the
new nominating committee.
- Terry Tosh suggested that committees coordinate better
while serving church members.

Time permitted so various committee chairs elaborated on the
above dates mentioned in these minutes. Jim Bell indicated that
a new "serving committee" will need to be formed.
Steve Barwick elaborated on the progress/future plans for the
church grounds.
Next meeting: May 25. Devotions will be led by Jerry Parsons.
