Ground breaking ... in the wind
One hundred fifty plus people braved the wind for the groundbreaking
celebration. At least it was sunny and dry. Right on time (after
starting to count off, just to bug Vickie!), Pastor Jim opened
the ceremony with prayer. We were honored by the presence of
Stacy Keach, the architect and his assistant, as well as John
Meek of Felmley-Dickinson, the general contractor. Both Mr. Keach
and Mr. Meek spoke highly of the work of the Building Committee
and the pleasure of working with Pastor Jim and all of our staff.
We already know how wonderful they all are, but it's always nice
to hear it from others. John Ten Haken spoke on behalf of the
committee and returned the compliments. A good working relationship
can only enhance the building process. Following the brief speeches,
lots of clapping and posing for photos, Pastor Vickie closed
with a blessing.
